About Us

The Bailliage de Laguna was founded in 1986 by our first Bailli, the great  Henry Schielein.  He has been succeeded over the years by other illustrious Baillis, Claes Andersen, Jim Allen in 1996, John Dravinski, and Enzo de Muro in 2000, and  Georgia Andersen in 2002..  Bryan Stirrat is our present Bailli. He is an  enthusiastic, hard working and a fun-loving person who is leading the Chapter in the spirit of Chaine camaraderie!

Membership in our chapter is limited and by invitation only.  Currently we have 66 involved and enthusiastic members who participate and support our approximately seven local events each year including our wine auction held annually. Proceeds from the auction are directed to the purchase of fine wines for the chapter’s world class cellar.

We also support our local Young Chef and Sommelier Competitions for our Far West Region.  Winners continue on to compete in the National and International Competitions.

In addition to our annual events, we have exceptional dining experiences at local restaurants.  Many of the chefs and owners are Chaine members themselves and the  interaction between the professionals and the active members is unique, informative and inspiring.  Membership in the Laguna Bailliage is indeed a series of memorable experiences in the culinary arts, wine enjoyment and education, and camaraderie with interesting and diverse friends.
