Rules and Regulations

La Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs is dedicated to chivalry, and members owe respect to one another. Good manners, appreciation, and knowledge are the most prized virtues that one can bring to the organization.

The rules for our dining events are relatively simple:

  1. Smoking is prohibited until after coffee is served. (This rule seems to have been overcome by events in Minnesota.)

  2. Water is served upon request.

  3. Speeches are not permitted at Chaîne functions except during Induction ceremonies. (Short commentaries on the food and wine are encouraged and are not considered "speeches".)

  4. Hot courses should be eaten when served. (It is not necessary or appropriate to wait for everyone at the table to be served.)

It is common practice out of respect for the kitchen, though not a rule, to omit salt and pepper, bread, and butter from the table service.
