Young Chefs' Awards
The evening at Cosmos, in the Graves 601 Hotel, began with a Reception at which contestants from the Young Chef Rôtisseur Competition, hosted the previous day at Le Cordon Bleu (see: Competition), were given their recognition and awards.

and Bailli Carl Blanz.In the Competition, each competitor is given an identical "mystery" basket containing a few key ingredients, and he or she must then design and prepare a three-course meal serving four people using some portion of each of those ingredients.
The contestants are all younger than 27 years old. The contest is judged by an army of both industry professionals and amateur gastronomes. The winner goes on to compete in Regional and potentially National and International competitions.
This year's winner was Veronica Vera who cooks at the Oak Ridge Conference Center. Congratulations Veronica!
