As guests arrived for the evening, they were greeted with Centenaire Brut Champagne, server-passed Hors d'Oeuvres, and performers from Circus Manduhai.
Circus Manduhai is a small, family-run Mongolian circus based in Minneapolis. (see: Circus Manduhai) Family head Chimgee has an extraordinary list of gymnastic accomplishments and provided a masterful demonstration of her craft.
Not to be outdone, Chef Rôtisseur John Thompson provided some high art as well:
- Chanterelle Mushroom - Spec en gelle
- Sweetbread Strudel with Hollandaise Noir
- Smooked Eel Paté with Soy-Rice Wafer
For this guest, the Sweetbread Strudel has to have been heaven made. It's the stuff dreams are made of.
Bailli Carl Blanz, our local chief executive, then opened the ceremonial part of the evening by introducing Bailli Provincial John Burson, our regional chief executive.
