Jeunes Commis Rôtisseur Awards & Induction Dinner

Money Award Chef Dan Vasterling & John Burson

   Bailli John Burson began by introducing a number of Chaine members who reside outside of the Twin City area who had come to attend the regional meeting.

   John next praised the work of the Chaine Foundation and announced that the Foundation had awarded Le Cordon Bleu a check for $5000 dollars for its support of the Young Chef Competition.

   The check was presented to Chef Dan Vasterling who had represented the school at the Competition.

   John then introduced Vice Chargée de Missions, Amanda Bové Sill, and Conseiller Culinaire Provincial Art Inzinga who had presided over the Competition itself.   (see: Competition)

   Amanda was the local organizer of the event and Art is the individual who tallies the scores and selects a winner.

   Amanda began by introducing those members of the Chaîne who had participated in the judging and who were present for the dinner.  They were Gastronome Judges Professionnel du Vin Ted Farrell, Bailli Honoraire Bob Cornelius, Maître Rôtisseur Traiteur Yvonne Moody, and Professional Judge Chef Rôtisseur Serge Devisa.

   Art then began presenting the awards.  Four of the Contestants were awarded Bronze medals and one, a Silver medal.  The holder of the Silver medal is entitled to go on to the National Competition to be held in Seattle, Washington in May.  And should he or she be a winner there, to attend the International Competition in Helsinki, Finland in September.

And the Winner is...

The Winner Amanda Bové Sill, Ben Coggin and Art Inzinga

   Benjamin Coggin from The Madison Club of Madison, Wisconsin was selected as the winner of the Midwest Regional Jeunes Commis Rotisseur Competition.
