Wines Wines for Auction - Les Hospices de la Chaîne Minneapolis

In late 2010, the Bailliage du Minneapolis held a formal dinner and wine auction to sell some of the odd lots from our cellar to raise money for new wine purchases.  To give the event some glamour, it was christened "Les Hospices de la Chaîne Dinner."  It was held at Windows on Minnesota, December 5th, 2010.  (see: Event)

The inspiration for the name came from the 150th Hospices de Beaune Charity Wine Auction which had been held the previous month in Beaune, France.  The yearly event attracts wine buyers from around the world and is considered the oldest and most prestigious charity wine auction.

We, the Bailliage du Minneapolis, came together again this year at approximately the time of the 151st Charity Auction to repeat last year's joyous event.  Our venue again was Windows on Minnesota, our host was Officier Conseiller Culinaire Honoraire Gérard Viardin, and our guest Auctioneer was friend Michael Swisher.

The evening began with server-passed Hors d'Oeuvres and a delightful Brut Rosé:
